The jug-and-strainer in front of us was part of a drinking set used by the Philistines in their banquets. We know that the Philistines drank wine and beer. It would seem that the strainer filtered the chaff from the beer. In the glass cabinet to your left is a pot in which they used to mix wine with water as was customary in Greek culture, and then pour it into the goblets or bowls on display in front of you.
