The Philistines left an unmistakable mark on the history of the Jewish people. They appear for the first time in the Bible in the Table of Nations described in Genesis and, from this point on, they are cited primarily negatively in their encounters with the Israelites. The Bible describes the Philistines as a cruel enemy, belligerent, perfidious and uncultured. But what do we really know about them? Where did they come from? How did they live? Why did they fight with Israel? And where did they disappear to? The world of the Philistine that is standing before you will be presented in this exhibition.
